Last week was the culmination of several weeks of Dave's training: he completed his first triathlon! It was in Las Colinas, the same area where UD is so it was familiar to us! He had to be there at 5:30 am, I was most definitely not getting there at 5:30 with kiddos dressed and fed when he didn't start the race till 8:30! But we tried to be there to see him start. Alas the parking was crazy and there were tons of people, so I parked and walked, so glad I knew the area well!
As I was walking up to the lake, I heard the gunshot go off, so we missed him start by just a couple minutes! We got to see him complete the swim, and then positioned ourselves so we could see him when he transitioned into the other legs of the race!

One of the officials let CJ sit on his motorcycle. Of course, he knew exactly what to do and walked around like he was hot stuff after that.
Playtri Festival 2012 Finisher! Didn't get a shot of his crossing the finish line, because wouldn't you know the kids had just had it by then, but let's just say we were all so excited! The announced their names as they crossed the line, so I looked up right then to see him!
And yes, this is the start of a new obsession...More triathlons to come!
